Hello all, and thank you for welcoming me and the kind words from Vitaliy and Vadim  I am a french beginner in ship building, and I will try to make the Soleil Royal, a 17th century 3 decks french ship. I like your ways of doing things in ship building, and I appreciate your participation on the Gerard Delacroix forum, so it's my turn to show you my work! I hope I will get help and advices from you during the process At this time, I finish to draw the plans, wich I work on since the end of the year 2009. I should post some pictures as soon as they are done. I'm sorry I can not speak Russian but only in English, I hope it doesn't matter. Best regards, Marc

Thank you Dmitry, and congratulations for your stunning 74 gun ship!! Truly amazing... It's very rewarding to learn from you all. Actually I'm working on the "Soleil Royal" model, but as you may know there is no plans of this ship, so I had to draw the plans by myself. The scale is 1/72. It may not be very accurate, but I will not realize the frame so It's not big problem. Anyway I did my best. The rear view is not finished yet but I only have the time to do it in a couple of weeks. And I show you my first attempt at sculpture with a mini "comte de Tourville", he was the admiral of french fleet. thanks for any comments!

Hello, No, I don't plan to publish them because they are not good enough, they are not absolutely exact ('cause nobody knows exactly how was build this ship) and it's quickly done  here are the last drawings: Now the construction will begin at the end of august! hum, one more time problem with pictures...

A few new pictures here! As you see, I chose the Russian way for the hull. I still have a big work with sanding, so finally I can see if my hull looks correct. The bow and the stern will be made later with great caution. Marc
